BCOO Correspondence Course

The Business Conduct & Office Operations (BCOO) course is required for all designated broker applicants. The Commission offers the BCOO course through correspondence study. Download the course outline here.

If you take BCOO via correspondence, you must pass a proctored final course exam to receive credit for the course.

  1. Contact a certified course provider in your area to make an appointment to take the exam. If you don’t have a provider in your area, you may arrange with a public library or public school to proctor the exam. Please allow sufficient time for the Commission to send the exam materials to your proctor. You may also make an appointment to take the exam at the Commission office (please be aware we can’t provide you a quiet location).
  2. Download the Request for a Proctored Exam form. Complete and submit the form to the Commission office with the $25 exam proctor fee. (The proctor site may charge you an additional fee for the proctoring service.)
  3. After you have completed the exam, the proctor will return it to the Commission office. Your exam will be scored, and we will notify you of your exam results by mail. Exam results will not be given over the phone.
