The Idaho Real Estate Commission

Designated Brokers – You can access E&O and CE information for all associates in your office through   IREC’s new online services!  Visit www.irec.idaho.gov and register your user name and password –   then go to the Online Services link.  Thanks for your help in monitoring CE and E&O statuses!

The continuing education requirement to renew an active license or to reactivate a license is 16 elective hours plus one (1) Commission CORE course.  If you are licensed in another state, it is likely your CE from that state can be applied toward your Idaho elective requirement.  Please see our website to obtain a Licensee’s Request for CE Credit form, which you should submit in advance of your renewal date with the requested documentation.  Idaho real estate schools automatically provide proof of most course completions to the Commission.  Check your education online at www.irec.idaho.gov by registering a user name and password and accessing your records through the Online Services link.

E&O Insurance Renewals are Due NOW

All Rice Insurance Services E&O policies expire at midnight on October 1, even if you just recently purchased the insurance for the first time.  If you do not have other E&O coverage, you must renew your policy directly with Rice by October 1 to avoid a $100 minimum fine.  It’s easy to renew online at www.risceo.com (click the “Idaho” tab on the left).  The premium is $165 again this year.  We’ve heard Rice is charging an additional $5 convenience fee for online renewals this year, so please don’t delay if you are planning to mail in a check.  Rice must receive your renewal by October 1 (a Wednesday).

All active licensees must maintain E&O insurance, regardless of whether you practiced or not.  It’s very important to renew on time so you don’t lose your retroactive date or have any gaps in your coverage.  IREC staff and the Commissioners thank you for your help!!

Ethics Training Requirement:  For questions about the upcoming deadline for mandatory ethics training, please contact your local REALTOR® association.  The ethics training is a requirement for NAR® membership only -- not a requirement for your real estate license.  However, some ethics courses are certified for continuing education credit and may also count toward your CE for renewal or reactivation of your license.
