Calling all Instructors, Providers, and Future Instructors! The Commission’s annual Instructor Development Workshop (IDW) will be held May 19-20, 2009 at the Boise Hilton Garden Inn (Overland Road). A block of rooms has been reserved at the rate of $85 per night. Registration for IDW is just $150 ($175 if received after May 5, 2009). In addition to the 2009 Core course, the new BCOO course will be offered on the second half of Day 2. Those wishing to be certified to teach Core and/or BCOO must attend the entire class(es) and pass the final course exam(s). IDW is a requirement for new and renewing instructor certifications. HOT TOPIC – Commission and Education Council Vacancies! The Real Estate Commission announces a Commissioner vacancy effective July 1, 2009. A Commissioner from the Southwest District (Owyhee, Elmore, Ada, Canyon, Boise, Gem, Payette, Washington, Adams and Valley Counties) will be appointed by Governor Otter for a 4-year term. Commissioners must be actively licensed in Idaho as a designated or associate broker and have at least 5 years active broker experience in Idaho. To apply for this Commission position, you must reside in the Southwest District, fill out the form on the Governor’s website, and submit your application to the Governor’s Office by June 1, 2009.
The Commission also announces a vacancy in the Commission’s Education Council effective July 1, 2009. A new Education Council member from the Southwest District will be appointed by the Real Estate Commissioners at their June 2009 meeting. To apply for this 4-year Education Council position, you must reside in the Southwest District, prepare a letter of interest and resume addressed to the Commissioners, and submit your letter to Jeanne Jackson-Heim, Executive Director of the Real Estate Commission, by June 1, 2009.
