HOT TOPIC – Foreclosure Rescue Schemes: IREC has received numerous complaints from members of the public and licensees regarding foreclosure rescue schemes. Remember – if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Please contact the IREC Enforcement Dept. or the Office of the Attorney General if you have questions or to report possible scams.
Did you know? The Real Estate Commission does not require an ethics course to renew your real estate license. Code of Ethics training is a requirement for REALTOR® membership only. However, some ethics courses do count for CE credit in addition to meeting the REALTOR® ethics requirement. (The “Cracking the Code” course is NOT the same as the Commission Core course which IS required for license renewal.)
You can check your education history for your real estate license online by logging in as a registered user at http://www.irec.idaho.gov/. Contact your local REALTOR® Association if you have questions about your Code of Ethics requirement.
The new public Education Search has been launched on the Commission’s website at http://www.irec.idaho.gov/. Select “Education Search” and click on the “Education” tab. Search for courses by location, date, and type of course. You can also find courses offered free or at reduced cost through the use of civil penalty fine money.
