The Idaho Real Estate Commission

E&O renewals through RISC are due NOW!  If you participate in the Commission’s group policy, renew online by October 1st at www.risceo.com (a $5 convenience fee for the online payment will be added to the policy premium).  For renewals completed after October 1, there will be a minimum $100 fine for late renewal.  E&O insurance is a requirement to hold an active real estate license.   Pay on time or pay the fine!

IREC maintains archives of e-newsletters, the Broker Bulletins, and the Real Estatement newsletters at www.irec.idaho.gov.

Did you know?  All advertising of listed property must include the broker’s licensed business name per Idaho Code 54-2053(2).  We have received many complaints regarding violations of this law, especially for property advertised on websites such as Craig’s List and E-bay.  Please make sure any advertising of your listings complies with this requirement.

Other advertising issues have been observed regarding “teams”.  Idaho does not license teams.  Associates at an office are licensed under one designated broker, regardless of team affiliation.  The designated broker is responsible for the activities of all associates in his/her office and for determining the office’s agency policy.  Licensees are also cautioned that Idaho Code 54-2053(4) prohibits advertising of “misleading information”.

The new public Education Search has been launched on the Commission’s website at www.irec.idaho.gov.  Select the “License Look-Up and Course Search” link and click on the “Education Search” tab.  Search for courses by location, date, and type of course.  You can also find courses offered free or at reduced cost through the use of civil penalty fine money.
